Weekly Text Study with Rabbi Bloom

Every Wednesday 9-10:00 am at Paulista Brazilian Cafe

Congregants meet to read the weekly parasha in order to gain different understandings of the words and their historical context. What did the ancient sages and commentators say about the passages? Can it be applied to modern life? All skill levels, abilities and desires are welcomed.

Every Saturday 9-9:30 am on Zoom

Rosh Chodesh Celebrations

This group meets monthly on the Monday closest to the Rosh Chodesh-9:30 to 11:30 am. Contact Amy Tessler for locations as we meet at members’ homes on a rotating basis.

Learn on Sunday mornings

Adult education classes take place through the year on select Sunday mornings, 10 am-Noon.  There are an array of teachers and topics. Watch the TBA calendar for updates.

Alef Bet Class with Susan Simon

Designed for adults who want to learn to decode Hebrew, and be able to follow along in the Siddur. By the end of the class all students will be able to decode Hebrew slowly, and will have a good foundation for further learning in Hebrew. Cost is $100 plus the cost of the book. Introduction to Judaism with Rabbi Bloom

This class is designed both for those looking into converting to Judaism and anyone who just wants to learn a bit more. When in session this class meets on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm in the Baum Youth Service. For information on the next class cycle, contact Rabbi Bloom.

Conversion

Rabbi Bloom works with several people each year interested in converting to Judaism. Potential converts usually attend the Introduction to Judaism class. Please contact Rabbi Bloom directly if you are interested in converting or just exploring Judaism.
