Director’s Message

I am delighted to welcome you to our Bet Sefer Avraham webpages. I have been the director of the school since January of 2005 and am so happy to be able to help guide many of the children of our community in their Jewish education.

We have made so many improvements at Bet Sefer. We can objectively measure the skills of our students and are thrilled with the progress that they have made. Students are learning material at a younger age and are able to learn so much more in their time with us. The smiling faces are wonderful to see.

The best preparation for leading a Jewish life is learning skills and the meaning behind our practices. Bet Sefer Avraham strives to make sure that every child who graduates from our program has the knowledge and skills to continue their Jewish learning through their teen years and into adulthood.

Our goals are:

to make sure that no child ever feels like a stranger in a synagogue

to create community where children can thrive in a Jewish environment

to understand and be familiar with the rituals and practices of Jewish life

to feel comfortable attending and participating in a Shabbat or weekday service

to understand the meaning behind and practices of Jewish holidays

to have a basic understanding of the stories contained in Jewish texts

to create and nurture a strong connection with the State of Israel

to understand and feel committed to Jewish values and ethics

We welcome you to join us as we continue to infuse our students with Jewish pride, learning and interest.
