We will update this page as we learn more information about statewide and local advice and regulations.
We have been prepping for changes here at Temple Beth Abraham since the pandemic was first discovered. Here are some things we have done:
We purchased and installed hand sanitizer units all over the facility, including in the classrooms, chapel and sanctuary.
We purchased and are using spray disinfectant machinery so that every room can be sanitized between users.
We have plenty of sanitizing wipes to use all over the facility.
We will no longer be serving snack to the Mechina, Alef and Bet students as we have done in the past to minimize the handling of food that children eat. Children will be welcome to bring a snack each week of vegetables or fruit – PLEASE, NOTHING WITH NUTS and no chips and junk food.
If we have an event that involves food, we will have strict protocols in place for the children to be served food by people wearing masks and gloves rather than allowing people to help themselves.
If we are meeting in person at the start of the school year, all students and staff will be wearing masks the entire time that we are on the premises. Parents will need to provide their own masks for children.
We will make every effort to have students have their own supplies rather than sharing them.
We are working on a policy for the students to have an outdoor break and play some games without sharing too much equipment. Our policy on this is not yet firm.
We are happy to take suggestions from you that will help us keep all of our students and staff safe – don’t hesitate to reach out to Susan@tbaoakland.org.
