Dawn’s “Famous Playdough Recipe”

4 c. all-purpose white flour
1 c. salt
1.5 cup cream of tartar
4 c. water
1.5 cup corn or canola oil
2 Tbsp. food coloring-or more

Put all ingredients in medium saucepan and cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly until it all pulls away from the pot’s sides. Remove from pan and knead until smooth, adding a bit of flour if needed to prevent too much stickiness. Let cool for 15 minutes, store in airtight container or Ziplock bag. No need to refrigerate.
