Black Jewish Voices-3 part series July 26, Aug 2 and Aug 16

Our three part series on Black Jewish Voices begins this coming Sunday, July 26 at 7:30 PM.. Zoom information appears at the bottom of this email.
1. Sunday, July 26, Black Voices in the Bible. From the descendants of Cham to Moses’ wife to the Country of Cush to the Queen of Sheba, we will explore what the Torah, Prophets, and Writings have to say about Black Biblical figures and places. This session will be very text based, though no Hebrew ability is required.
2. Sunday, August 2, Black Jews Around the World. Our own member Bryan Schwartz, who runs an organization called Scattered Among the Nations, will teach us about several different Black Jewish communities in Africa, at least some of which he had the opportunity to spend time with in his travels. This includes the Abayudaya Jews of Uganda, the Shona Jews of Zimbabwe, and the House of Israel in Ghana.
3. Sunday, August 16, Panel of Black Jews at Temple Beth Abraham. Our own members Denise Davis, Booker Holton, Dara Pincas, and Elizabeth Simms will share some of their own experiences at both Temple Beth Abraham and throughout the Jewish world. This will be an opportunity for you to ask questions of our panelists and is strictly limited to Temple Beth Abraham members.
All events are free of charge, but donations of any amount are greatly accepted either by a check or through the TBA website,
